These are great! Wish I’d used a ” 😉 ” when an old high school friend caught up with me on facebook and friend-requested with, “Didn’t we date once?” and I replied that I was “so not impressed!” (joking) and accepted the request. He then proceeded to apologize profusely over several messages saying he had just been joking and was so so sorry, etc. Apparently sarcasm/humor is not easily translated online without emoticons! lol 😉
That would be the time I said I was “going to bungee jump from the next tall bridge with no bungee” I was really stressed but obviously kidding. A 😉 would have prevented a panic in a friend or two, lol.

I can’t remember a specific time when I didn’t use the 😉 but I really am thankful for the person who thought of emoticons. It really helps clarify the intent of the message and I wish I had been the one to think of it. 😉
These are so adorable. Wish I used an emoticon on emails with people not yet used to my occasional sarcasm. One smiley could possibly diffuse misunderstanding. ( ;

I really wish I’d used one the time I made the crack that my parents were still bitter about me not finishing my degree. I meant one parent in particular, but the other interrogated me publicly about the comment. Oops. (and that’s only the most recent)
I always use them in emails and texts but I wish I could use them in speech! 😛

I once left a sarcastic remark on someone’s FB page stating my children were perfectly well-behaved at all times…. definitely should have been followed by a ” 😉 ” !!! Someone took me seriously and thought I was being a hideously braggy mother.
