Just when I was feeling all cool with my fancy new iPhone 4, Reuters is reporting that Apple will launch the iPhone 5 in September.
Now while I’m perfectly happy with my 4th generation, for those of you who have been waiting or are in need of an upgrade from your third generation or iPhone 3GS, here’s what you can expect with the newest version.
While this is not yet official, we’re hearing that the iPhone 5 will be much faster than the iPhone 4, with the same processor that powers the iPad 2. Additionally, there’s speculation that it will have a better antenna, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and a bigger screen.
Other than that, it appears as though the new iPhone will be pretty similar to the iPhone 4, but until we get the official word from Apple, we’ll just have to wait and see. -Kristen
So tell us, are you holding out for the iPhone 5? Or waiting to see if the price then comes down on the iPhone 4?
I doubt the iPhone 5 will have a larger screen since it sounds like Apple will be using the same casing of the iPhone 4. I also think it won’t be called iPhone 5, probably iPhone 4s. Unless it’s a total redesign, the version number probably won’t change.
I’m keeping my iPhone 4 though. I don’t need any more speed for how I use the phone. The 8Mp camera sounds nice, but not enough for an upgrade. I’m more excited about iOS 5!
I’ve been upgrade eligible since January. I’m holding out for the new phone!
I was just finally able to upgrade to my iPhone 4 in January, so I’m set with it for the foreseeable future. Somehow my upgrade dates are always way off from when Apple introduces new iPhones, but I’m used to it now. Besides, I’m determined to find a way to get my hands on an iPad before I even think about upgrading my phone again. 🙂
Well I was trying to wait for the Iphone 5 but when the hubby’s phone went on the fritz we had to get new phones since we changed providers and I am not sporting an Iphone 4 and I am very happy with it but a little bummed that I could have waited a few more months…oh welll
We will be getting one of these! Can’t wait, my 3G keeps getting slower and slower…
Yes, yes, and yes! My iPhone 3G is slowly dying on me. I’m hoping it will hang on till September. I’m definitely interested in the iPhone 5.
