Oddballz at the Circus app In my experience with iPad apps over the last couple of years, I’ve learned that sometimes the simplest apps are the most entertaining and educational. And that’s exactly how I’d describe this adorable new parent-created app for preschoolers and toddlers. I guess that’s why my kids can’t stop playing it?

It’s pretty clear that Oddballz at the Circus was created by parents because it’s got everything you’d want in an app for your littler kiddos, and nothing you don’t. (No in-app purchases, hooray!) The object is to swipe the different parts of each adorable, illustrated character–head, body and legs–until you find the match. When you do, a cute little kid voice names the circus character who then performs a little dance. We’re partial to the strong man, ourselves.

The second screen encourages counting, with the player tapping various items to count them off. (Like peanuts for an elephant). And the balloon-popping “reward” for completing a series might just be the best part for your kids. Isn’t that always the case?

You won’t find a ton of bells and whistles in this app, but quite frankly, your kids won’t miss them. After all–balloons! -Kristen

You can purchase Oddballz at the Circus for $.99 at iTunes.com. Totally worth it!
