Make holiday returns easier with the returnguru appIf there’s one thing I reaaaallly don’t like about holiday shopping, it’s the holiday returns. While I like to think that I’m usually spot on with my gift giving choices (pat, pat), there are times when I don’t hit the target and am faced with the dreaded return.

That’s when a clever new app made for gift returns comes to the rescue.

Unlike past times where I have stumbled upon random items I was supposed to return a couple months beyond when return policies are honored, returnguru will serve as my returns reminder and let me know exactly when that size 6 I ordered–that arrived as a size 16–needs to go back.

The
app houses the policies of major retailers (Old Navy, LOFT,
Macy’s and many more) and will send you reminders when five days remain
for any particular store’s return policy.
All you have to do is take a photo of your receipt using the in-camera
function and it will automatically store a digital copy.
For online purchases, you can email your receipts to
receipts@returnguru.com and those get added to your account as well.
Keep
in mind that it takes up to 24 hours for a receipt to be processed upon
upload, so if it doesn’t register right away, just hang tight, it will. Then not  only will you have all your receipts stored in one place (and not
scattered in the 10 different bags of goods you have hidden around the
house), but you can even use these digital receipts when you go back to
the store, if you have lost the real ones.
returnguru app

While it’s not the most beautiful
app I’ve seen by any means, it works. You can bet that armed with returnguru, I’ll be lessening the burden of my already insane holiday schedule, and holding out on
those returns for as long as possible. Ideally, January.  -Jeana
