Toca Pet Doctor app lets kids care for animals without ever touching a real litter box.

We’ve raved many times about Toca Boca, one of our absolute favorite kids’ app developers–and yours, from everything you tell us. Today they’ve released Toca Pet Doctor, another app we’re pretty sure kids (and parents) will love, because our own kids are already obsessed with it.

In the Toca Pet Doctor app, a room full of 15 adorably quirky animals with various ailments wait to be treated. Even the youngest veterinarian in training can help mend broken bones, catch fleas, and offer food to the animals, even if preschoolers need some parent or big sibling assistance.

Unlike a real vet’s waiting room, these animals practically jump for joy when it’s their turn to be treated, and they beam when they’re well again. It’s ridiculously adorable and can be one cool way to teach kindness to animals.

Now extra-sensitive kiddos may need to be reminded that Toca Pet Doctor is just an app. My nine year-old animal lover sniffled, Poor birdie, as she mended his wing. But overall, I love how good the Toca Pet Doctor app makes kids about caring for animals. Terrific message to instill while they’re having fun too.

Toca Pet Doctor for iOS is available for $2.99 on the App Store, starting today. Don’t miss all the awesome other Toca Boca apps we’ve featured — we love them!

Note that all of their apps are available for iPad and iPhone, but there are 6 Toca Boca Android apps at Google Play plus Toca Train on Amazon all for devices using OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and up.
