When I can manage to wrestle my iPad out of my children’s hands (shaking my fist at you, Minecraft), it is often because I need it as my cookbook. While I’ve liked products like the iPad cutting board for propping up the tablet right where I’m chopping, and most recently, the Otterbox Agility Mount if you can be more committal about location on the kitchen wall, traditionalists might like this cool Universal Cookbook stand for tablets from British designer Sebastian Conran made for West Elm Market.

Handsome, right?

One thing I like is that the beechwood stand is easily used for either an old fashioned cookbook – you know, one with real paper pages and stuff? – or your newfangled iPad or Galaxy Tab, so you can swipe through your Mark Bittman app in a flash. It even has handy US-metric conversions on the back, as well as measurement equivalents. And friends? That’s even faster than looking it up on the iPad.
