I just watched an episode of MadMen (I know, I’m super behind) in which Don scolds Peggy for lying back in her chair with her feet up on the desk. And I thought…oops. Because seriously, I always sit that way. I have to have my feet up on something when I’m working on a desk, meaning I’ve squished more than a few little plastic office trash bins with my boots over time, and probably given a few shows to colleagues when I came to work in a skirt.

(File this under things about me you probably never wanted to know.)

So of course I am totally enthralled with this Fuut under-desk hammock through Korean company Connect Design which solves my problem in a fun new way. It seems like it might be better if you work barefoot–or maybe the photographer just has a thing for women’s feet. However it comes in six colors and hey, if I get it in navy I bet the durable canvas can handle my shoes, since they will probably remain on my feet, under my desk.

And for God’s sake, do not get the white, no matter how cool it would look in an interior design magazine spread.

I just love the idea of a little foot hammock that I can lower when I need to pretend I’m sitting up straight like an adult, then raise when I want to kick back, drunk Peggy Olson style. Even if I’m not pounding anything stronger than a latte.

The Fuut under-desk hammock is $30, but shipping to the states is another $8. No guarantees that if you use it, you will look like the sexy mud flap silhouette as shown on the site in the demo visual.

We’ve got other home office finds in our archives.
