Halloween is right around the corner, so we decided to round-up fun Halloween apps for kids that aren’t too scary, all of which happen to be free (yay!). What a fun way to get them excited about Halloween, though if your kids are anything like ours, they’ve been talking about their costume since November of last year.

Not-too-scary Halloween apps for kids: Halloween Dress Up

In Halloween Dress Up Games, your child picks different zombies and monsters to dress up in Halloween costumes. The art is slightly more creepy, but still nothing too scary. Note that the app is free but there are in-app purchases to unlock individual characters or all of them for $1.99. (iOS and Android)

Not-too-scary Halloween apps for kids: Trick or Treat Town

My Family: Trick or Treat Town is a pretend-play app, where you have control over what the cute little vampires and Frankensteins and farmer kids do in this Halloween world. You can tap on the pumpkins to make their faces change, tap on flowers that grow candy, or hang upside down like a bat. You can make an in-app purchase for more content for $2.99. (iOS and Android)

Best Halloween apps for kids | Cool Mom Tech

In fact, you can pick from witches, vampires and robots (among others) but they’re all smiling and sweet. You get to customize more options here — from their hats and clothing to their trick-or-treat bag and pet. There’s an in-app purchase to unlock all items for $1.99.
