We’re so thrilled to be part of the launch of the brand new Windows Phone which is helping people, including moms like us, do more with less.

We here at Cool Mom Tech live by the technology of online shopping. (Boy, do our credit cards know that.) But thankfully, shopping online can actually help you do more with less in the literal sense–like when we’re all trying to watch our pennies with the holidays right around the corner.

With that in mind, here are three easy ways that you can stretch that dollar, and still score fantastic, designer goodies.

Apricot Culotte: Gently used high end children's clothing

Use the web to shop last season

Unless you’re uber tuned-in to a specific
designer’s collections, it’s no big faux pas to put your kiddo in last
season’s clothes, and in fact, it keeps them from looking like every other kid in the class. While there’s always ebay, we’ve found a new crop
of boutiques, like Jilly Bo Billy,
whose virtual shelves are stocked only with past season’s duds from coveted kids designers. While sizes and styles are somewhat limited, the deals can definitely be worth it.

Shop consignment online

It used to be the consignment was something you had to do in person, but these days, there’s no shortage of online consignment shops full of gorgeous, hard to find pieces, like Apricot Culotte. The clothing here is carefully chosen and curated like a fine kids boutique of gently worn clothes straight from Europe. And really, it’s great to have access to clothes from all over the country and world, whereas with your in store consignment would limit you to your very own city.

There are also online swap sites like thredUP and SwapMamas which give you the added benefit of nabbing fashion from all over the country, as opposed to your local store which limits you to what’s popular in your own neighborhood.

Shop members-only sales sites

Over the last few years, an amazing crop of members only sales sites have popped up,
so much so that there’s really very little reason to pay full price anymore for beautiful designer kids clothes, gifts, and gear. We recently posted about 7 of the best online shopping deal sites that have mobile capabilities, and most of them do killer kids’ sales too.

Plus there are now sites that cater exclusively to parents, like mom-run The Mini Social, which offers up to 70% off of coveted brands, some of which are rarely discounted elsewhere.

And the best part of scoring awesome online deals on kids clothes?  You have cash leftover to score some deals for your own self. Some for them, some for us…that’s our kind of shopping.
