I’ve been coveting an iPhone ever since their launch, but as a Verizon wireless customer, I didn’t want to switch providers. Every year I held my breath and crossed my fingers that this would be the year that my device of choice would come to my provider of choice.
Well, this is it. It’s happening next month!
Just a little while ago in New York, Apple and Verizon made my dreams come true with a big announcement: The iPhone 4 is officially coming to Verizon. Whoo!
The Verizon iPhone 4 will have the same features as the original–5-megapixel camera, HD video, and of course, the apps. (Yay, apps.) However, this is a non-CDMA phone and won’t be running on Verizon’s 4G network; this means users won’t be able to browse the web and talk on the phone at the same time. But considering I’ve been waiting so long for the iPhone to offer up another carrier choice, I don’t care. I’m just glad to be able to finally get one of my very own. -Julie
The iPhone 4 will be available on Verizon on February 10 with prices starting at $199. Current Verizon customers can pre-order the iPhone 4 on February 3, ahead of the general public.
I am with you on this one, Beth. I have had iphone envy for so long it is tiresome. As far as the multitasking, honestly I don’t really care about browsing while I talk, I can call back!
I will miss bbm and surely the instant email of bberry. The lack of international is not great but all in, I am as thrilled as you!
I used to be in the same boat till about 2 months ago when I got my Droid 2. I’ve been so happy with it, I don’t see me getting the iPhone at all.
I can relate. I have been so eager for Verizon to get the iPhone. My husband told me yesterday that he wanted to get me one for Valentine’s Day! YAY! Apparently though the iPhone 5 is coming out in the summer. Will you get one now, or wait for problems to surface and allow Apple to work out the kinks before you commit?
I really like my Droid 2 also. Is the iPhone really any better?
