Now that I’ve finally joined the ranks of iPad owners (and I am so happy to be welcomed among you!) I finally understand why there’s so much debate about iPad cases. A good one is hard to find.
While I appreciate the pricey, well-made cases that protect an equally pricey investment, I also see the need for something affordable too. JAVOedge makes a case that is definitely worth looking at if that sounds your speed.
I’ve been trying out one of their very pretty JAVOedge Cherry Blossom Axis Case for iPad over the past couple of weeks, and it’s got some nice features. The fabric case is cushiony enough to offer some protection, and closes easily with a magnetic flap. Flip the case open and it becomes a kickstand, propping the iPad up either either vertically or in landscape in grooves that let it recline at three different angles.
I will say the stand is great for movie watching or for some light work on plane rides, but certain angles are not quite stable enough for you to poke at the screen too hard, especially when you’re in vertical mode. So no Tap Tap Revenge.
I’ve also seen some complaints that it doesn’t hold up over time–although my sample version seems to be an upgrade from those. I haven’t experienced problems with the case at all, though I could imagine if you carry your iPad with you everywhere, all the time, this might not have the durability of a silicone or a hard case. Rather, it’s a nice looking case for under 40 bucks if you’re not too hard on your electronics. And it sure is pretty. –Liz
