Q: In this cold and flu season, what is the best way to clean/disinfect tablets? My kids have been sneezing and coughing steadily on my iPad as they snuggle watching movies on Netflix on these sick days. -Pam
We hear you, Pam. It sounds like the revolving door of illnesses at our house too. Thankfully, it’s actually pretty easy to disinfect your tablet and other gadget screens thanks to a couple of great products.
If you want to go all out, you can invest in a CleanWave Sanitizing Wand (above) which you actually just wave over anything you want to disinfect, whether it’s your tablet or even a keyboard or mouse. No chemicals here, just the power of UV-C.
Our Editor Liz really likes the Windex Electronics Wipes, which you can use safely on most gadget screens, and you can find at most supermarkets and hardware stores. These wipes really do work well!
And if you’re thinking about making your own cleaners to save money, that’s an option too. Here’s a great post from Lifehacker about what you shouldn’t do to clean your gadget screens. Super helpful, including links to Apple’s recommendations for cleaning Apple products. Avoid aerosol sprays for sure!
