Along with today’s Chinese New Year celebrations, Korea also will mark the start of a new year, and we’ve found a wonderful Korean song from Elena Moon Park’s Rabbit Days and Dumplings to go along with the holiday.
Sol Nal is a pretty song sung in Korean with a chorus that even the youngest can learn. I love that it includes the sounds of the traditional Korean piri wind instrument, with Elena Moon Park’s bandmate Dan Zanes on banjo, as well as other instruments from around the world. For those of us who love to learn and appreciate other cultures and their music, this is a wonderful addition to your playlist, no matter when you traditionally say, Happy New Year!
