If the holidays were super-good to you and you’re a proud new owner of an iPad or iPhone, chances are that you’re probably looking for a sleek new case to protect your sacred new tech toy.

If the name Case-Mate conjures up images of practical but boring tech
accessories, then you haven’t seen their recent makeover. Case-Mate
hired industrial designer Erik Arlen (famous for his innovative
shoe designs at Nike) to give edgy coolness to their mobile tech cases.
And with prices starting at $19.99, your bank account can breathe a sigh
of relief after holiday shopping overload.
For the iPhone, I love the iPhone 4 Egg Case (right) which is a modern twist on–you guessed it–an egg crate. Made from
impact-resistant silicone, it provides major protection and security
while looking very design-y and cool. The raised molded dots add a bit
of texture to your hands every time you use the device, and it comes in black,
blue, red and a neat translucent.
Also worth a look: The I Make My Case artist series featuring four prints featuring very cool florals and graphics.
For you lucky new iPad owners, the Venture Gold iPad Stand Case
(above and at left) is definitely the most fashion-forward of their new iPad cases. The flashy metallic gold faux snakeskin outside reminds me of a vintage
clutch bag I own (and love!) that was handed down from my grandma. The case also acts as a stand
and allows for access to all ports and functions.
Not into gold? You can also grab one in purple or hot pink. Black too, but suddenly that seems so…ordinary. –Melissa
