There’s nothing more awesome than giving someone a gift you know they’ll absolutely love. The problem though is finding that perfect gift. (Although Cool Mom Picks and Cool Mom Tech have been known to help along those lines. Ahem.)
Now there’s a solution appearing in the most surprising place–your own Facebook page.
Givvy is a social Facebook app that is basically a what’s what of good gifts based on user recommendations. Upon submitting a trendy gift idea, you instantly become a “curator” and accrue points based on how much your gifts gain in popularity. Kind of like sites like The Find or Pinterest.
So far it really is a fantastic resource for checking out cool products. There are different categories of gift recipients including foodie, hostess, pet lover, fashionista, and my personal fave, uber geek.
Bonus: since it’s an app within Facebook, it already has access to your friends’ birthdays which you can keep track of through Givvy’s personalized calendar and gift reminder service.
With any luck, you’ll never have to succumb to gift cards again. After all, there are better ways to say “I love you,” than $25 to some mall Chinese restaurant chain, right? -Jeana
