With the recent wild weather in the Northeast and all the political venom that has been spewing over every media outlet, it’s been a tough couple of weeks. But then, the other morning, as I realized both were ending, I woke up with the most lovely song running through my head.
It reminded me: It is a wonderful world.

I have always loved Louis Armstrong’s gritty, deep voice contrasted against the vivid, sweet lyrics in 1968’s What a Wonderful World. You probably know the lyrics yourself, though it is this line that really sticks out to me now:

The colors of a rainbow….so pretty in the sky/ Are also on the faces…of people going by/  I see friends shaking hands…sayin’ How do you do? / They’re really sayin’ …I love you.
What a great message for our kids as we help our neighbors get back on their feet after Hurricane Sandy, and as we come together after such a divisive election. Christina
