As we remember the life of Martin Luther King Jr., Jackie, a song about baseball legend Jackie Robinson, introduces our children to another man who broke through racial barriers and paved the way for so many others. Off long-time kindie favorites Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band’s latest release Lishy Lou and Lucky Too, the song tells the story of Jackie Robinson in simple terms, leaving his struggles summed up with the question, Where do I fit?

For our growing-up kids, it’s a smart question they will ask themselves too, and a great way to tell them the story of another great African-American who wouldn’t give up. Plus, it has a great chorus to sing to the kids whether they are struggling in school or on the ball field. It’s certainly one that has captured our hearts and our ears.

Download a copy of the song Jackie from the album Lishy Lou and Lucky Too by Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band from our Amazon affiliate.
