After spending your Father’s Day celebrating with the special dads in your family’s life, take a few quiet moments to enjoy a song from one very special dad, writing one heck of a special song. Singer-songwriter Alastair Moock. Home When I Hold You reminds our kids how much they are loved, especially when wrapped in a parent’s hug.

What really moves us, beyond the wonderful lyrics, is the the fact that the song was inspired by Alastair’s own five-year-old daughter, Clio, who was diagnosed with Leukemia. Thus, the subtitle of the album, Songs for the World’s Bravest Kids. In fact, Clio co-wrote the entire album with her father and this one is particularly a gem for a day like Father’s Day. The song is not maudlin or treacly– just soulful and beautiful.
It also puts a lot in perspective.
Home When I Hold You also features the beautiful voice of folk singer and musician Aoife O’Donovan. Their voices together make for a very tender bedtime song tonight or any night. And a beautiful reminder of just how special and strong that father-child bond can be.
