If you ask a lot of kids what they’d like more than a baby sister or a new bike or even their two front teeth, they’d say that want a sweet, fluffy, lick-you-in-the-face dog. And since October is the American Humane Association’s Adopt-a-Dog Month, I thought I’d add a little musical fuel to their fire with a song from one of our kindie favorites, Justin Roberts.
From his 2005 release Not Naptime, the song D-O-G may be 70 years old in dog years, but it is as relevant today as it was for my kids when they first heard it. This hard-to-resist tune starts off with all the sweet pleas you would expect to hear from a five year old, but then explodes with Justin’s fast-strumming guitar and rapid-fire lyrics.
Kind of like a new puppy running around your house at top speed as it chases your kids all over the furniture.
