Of all the amazing things my kids and their friends can do, one of the most astonishing is their ability to run in screeching packs around my yard when the temperature is more suited to, say, lying in a puddle of sweat sipping icy drinks. So, in honor of the rising temperatures of summer, I’ve found a new tune from kindie favorites The Not-Its! that captures one of my kids’ favorite, albeit sweaty, ways to spend these summer days.
Freeze Tag is just under two minutes of energetic fun about that game every generation of kid seems to play, no matter how hot it is outside. From The Not-Its! third CD, Tag, You’re It!, Freeze Tag has a “run around, run, run around” chorus led by former Velocity Girl Sarah Shannon and a bouncy beat that makes it my favorite tune on their new release.
