Holiday music has been playing in my home for the past two weeks. and if I was ever worried that the magic of Christmas would fade as my kids got older, turns out my three tweens are even more excited about the holidays now than when they were much younger. In fact, my 11-year-old daughter declared this classic Perry Como tune the best Christmas song ever.
Take that, Dominick the Donkey.
With backing vocals from The Fontane Sisters and music by Mitchell Ayres and His Orchestra, the 1951 hit It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas has a classic sound that is as timeless as Santa himself and perfect for these days we might be starting to trim trees and wrap that haul of Black Friday gifts.
Just ask my 11 year old.

THANK YOU! I was trying to figure out who sang those great backups on this song, and concluded that they must have been sisters … guess I was right because, and thank you for revealing they were the Fontane Sisters! What FABULOUS voices they were!
