To help us celebrate this 42nd anniversary of Earth Day (wow!), we’ve picked out a song from one of our favorite bands for kids and adults: They Might Be Giants.

Their most awesome CD/DVD combo, Here Comes Science, is a must-have for any curious family, and this week’s kids’ music download is a perfect fit for today.

Electric Car has a sweet eco message sung by the calm, quiet Robin Goldwasser who contrasts so well against the more quirky voices of John and John as they pop on for the funky-cool chorus. This is no bash-over-the-head eco message, but one that talks about using a different, cleaner technology for something almost all of us use frequently.

Hey, maybe someday all our kids will line up all their Hot Wheels for a charge instead of a guzzle of gas at their pretend pump. -Christina
