In this digital age, we take for granted that we have a hundred zillion photos of our children (maybe a one or two less of us actually with our children). Not so the case with every mother everywhere in the world.
Having just returned from a trip to Ethiopia with ONE, it didn’t take long to realize the powerful tools we hold in our hands every day: our own smartphones and digital cameras. Snap a photo of a reluctant subject…then reverse the device and hand it over. It instantly opened doors of trust, connectivity and communication that we might not have otherwise had.
It was nothing short of remarkable.
