Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time and money adding music to my digital collection, and making playlists for every event imaginable.  With warmer weather just around the corner, I’d like to think that my “BBQ Music,” “Summer Mix” and “Let’s Dance” playlists will get good use. To do so, I need to make sure I can give the tunes the performance they deserve, and the Orb Music Player is an awesome way to do that.

This little hockey puck-shaped device can instantly turn your home into a music-listening haven using nothing more than your iTunes library and a WiFi network.

It’s an easy set-up process: you just have to plug the Orb Music Player into your computer to download the software. Then hook it to to any speaker system in your house, and have immediate access to your entire music collection online. What’s even cooler is that you can use the Orb’s accompanying free iPhone or Android app to use as a remote control to switch selections and even adjust the volume from anywhere in the house.

You can add Orbs to any room that has a radio or speaker and essentially get surround sound of your iTunes library. The speaker also syncs with Pandora or Sirius radio, and at $79, presents a much cheaper alternative to a lot of other similar streaming products on the market. At that price, you can have one in every room and rock out to your “Clean the House” playlist. -Jeana
