Every time I throw out a used battery, I feel a little pang of eco-guilt. But the investment in rechargable batteries for every remote, ever gadget, every kids’ toy that beeps and boops in our home would be pretty big. So I am absolutely fascinated by this battery recharger that gives your regular old batteries a new life.
The SecondWind battery charger may
be an amazing step towards diminishing the three billion (wowwwww)
dry-cell batteries tossed in the US every year. It’s meant to charge
regular old disposable AA and AAA batteries safely–something you can’t do in a
charger meant specifically for rechargable batteries.
Plus it only takes about 90 minutes to get a full charge; hey, that’s
nearly as much time as it takes you to read the directions on those
kids’ tablets and toys anyway. I haven’t tried it myself so I can’t vouch for it personally, but if it
does what it says it does, it’s one heck of a good green bit of

You know I pretty much buy anything you guys tell me is cool, but I have to admit after spending FOREVER at Fab.com looking for this charger, I’m annoyed. Not at you, but at them. There’s absolutely NO search function on the site, so when you go there, money in hand ready to purchase, it’s not easy to find what you came in search of. And while there is lots of eye candy there to distract me, I want to buy what I want to buy! So if they are friends … you might tell them to fix that :))

Thanks for the feedback Shelly! Fab.com is a flash sale site, so like other similar sites, the items are only on sale for a limited time–generally 3 days, sometimes a week. That’s why we also list to another retail source; however obviously it will cost a little more then. -LG
