In those blissful few quiet minutes to myself, I love to curl up on the couch and flip through a magazine. So I am happy to have found a cool online magazine for parents that features loads of drool-worthy photos of stylish kids, decorating ideas for their rooms, plus interviews, craft ideas and so much more. Bonus? None of those annoying subscription cards fall out when you flip to the next page.

The quarterly Babiekins is like a big bowl of candy for those of us who like to pour over kids’ fashion and other cool stuff in beautifully-styled photo spreads. For those who parlez-vous francais (or Japanese), I’m reminded of Milk, the eclectic and lovely children’s fashion magazine from across the pond. And for those of you who also miss the now-defunct Cookie, this may be your new treat.

The overall look of Babiekins is guided by the vision of editor-in-chief and mama to two boys, Priscila Barros. I’m totally impressed that this is her rookie magazine–you’d never know–though she has been honing her style for the past couple of years with her blog Little Miss Heirlooms.

Babiekins is packed with loads of features–I counted at least fifty–including outdoor photo shoots, fashion trend pieces, profiles, and even birthday party ideas. At over 370 “pages”, don’t expect to flip through an issue in one sitting. In fact, my one complaint is that this magazine is so big, with so many features, it can be hard to find that neat dress or decorating tip I saw a few minutes ago.

But when I feel like escaping for a little bit at home or in the doctor’s waiting room–and would rather avoid that dog-eared ’09 copy of Good HousekeepingBabiekins has a whole bunch of eye candy waiting. Christina

Check out the first four issues of Babiekins at their website and keep an eye out for issue 5, due May 2nd.
