When I saw there was a headset coming out made just for gamers, I got super excited. Not because I need one, but because I happened to have made babies with a gaming addict, and occasionally, I would like to mute the sounds of mayhem, murder and destruction emanating from my living room.
Sony created a Wireless Stereo Headset for PS3 that looks like the perfect gamer must-have. With 7.1 digital surround sound, it’s designed to let you “hear the enemy before they see you” which uh, yeah. Sounds very familiar. You can also use it for movies with the exception of Blu Ray, which is great for you smaller home-dwellers with sleeping kids near the AV set-up.
The one thing it won’t eliminate is the sound of my sigOth trash-talking with his best friend from Baltimore through the microphone. Although there is a dandy mute button which he can tap before I embarrass him by asking him to clean the cat litter before he embarks on next his top secret military mission. Priorities.
My only complaint: It won’t be out in time for Father’s Day–shipping is expected in September. –Liz
The Sony PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset will be available in September from retailers including Amazon and Best Buy. Keep an eye on the Sony site for preorder info.
Wish they had that for the Xbox only voice goes through those headsets, at least he is in the other room, was a right pain when the ex had his Xbox in the same room hated the thing with a passion, funny I now love the Xbox just need to get the sound of COD to go through the headset.
