I’ve never been able to see the real constellations in the night sky, which is one reason I love this new song from The Pop Ups. Instead of talking about Orion or the Big Dipper, it encourages kids to use a healthy dose of imagination to play an outer space version of connect the dots.

Connect the Stars by the fun-loving Brooklyn duo known as The Pop Ups is a happy-pop ode to the night sky, layered with multiple voices, hand-clap beat, and a cheerful horns section. The other reason I love this song? It features one
of my favorite new voices to the kindie scene: Shawana Kemp of Shine and
the Moonbeams.

While the lyrics don’t really tell your kids to stay up late, once they hear there are “animals in the stars,” you may have to relax that bedtime for a few nights. -Christina
