We’ve made no efforts to hide our love for the Sonos wireless speaker, first discovering it last year and then including it in our CMT/CNET Holiday Gift Guide.
The newest Play:3 speaker is an awesome piece of hardware that emits incredible sound and lets you play your entire music library. If that’s not enough, you can access one of 100,000+ Internet music stations that come pre-loaded.
Need one more reason to add it to your wish list? Now Sonos is launching brand spanking new apps for Mac and PC this week, that let you control your entire speaker and music selection without getting up from your computer. And they are cool.
The Sonos desktop apps will let you do everything from search the entire music library to create playlists to set alarms so you can wake up to your favorite tunes. We especially love the mini controller–a pop-out window of album cover art that lets you control music even while working in other apps.
If you’re lucky enough to have more than one Sonos in the house, you can group them the play songs simultaneously and adjust volume, all without having to get up from your seat.
We’re on the edge of the seats that we won’t have to get up from. -Jeana
