For the past few years, one of our favorite storytellers is the gifted musician, singer, and spinner of tales, Randy Kaplan. And on his latest, release, Mr. Diddie Wah Diddie, my kids love to hear one song about a boy named Carl, a boy so naughty, he makes my trio look like little angels.
In a Timeout Now is a surprisingly lighthearted-sounding song about Randy’s childhood troublemaker, Carl, who keeps stirring up trouble. But unfortunately for Carl, he has a mama who is always just around the corner to catch her little hooligan.
Along with Randy’s voice and acoustic mandolin, a group of curious kids are there to ask questions and even join him for some fun yodeling. With his easy conversational style and make-you-smile lyrics, this is one timeout all my kids like to take. –Christina
