About six weeks ago, Liz sang the praises of Spotify and its new mobile app that provide iOS users with free mobile radio. And about six weeks ago, all Android users who read that post probably grumbled a bit.
Well, now the same free mobile radio is now available on Android devices. Hooray! (And finally!)
Offering the same functionality as the iOS app, Spotify for Android lets you get unlimited access to radio stations for free. You can also save songs with a simple tap and even be your own personal deejay, creating stations, creating favorite tracks and more.
The one minor caveat of the free app is that you’ll have to maneuver through the ads. No big deal. But if you want a completely ad-free experience, you can also go with the Premium version for $10 a month. The good news is that you can give the Premium service a whirl for 48 hours and sync playlists, listen offline and stream anything from the millions+ songs in the library to test out.
One other small complaint: some of the official Spotify screenshots on the Google Play site. Michael Buble and Celine Dion? Really? -Jeana
Spotify is available as a free app on Google Play.
