Even though I cook our Thanksgiving turkey every year, I still find myself checking it way too many times to see if it’s actually done. Yes, if there is such a thing as turkey paranoia, I have it.
But technology to the rescue! with a couple of ridiculously helpful apps that’s made just for people like me, hoping for the perfect bird on the table.
Though it might be a little late to use the handy shopping list feature, the
Chow Thanksgiving Dinner Coach was highly recommended by
Stacie Billis, Cool Mom Picks’ own food blogger. It will give you step-by-step instructions for cooking your turkey, plus give you a little help in planning and prepping your meal so that your side dishes aren’t done an hour before the main event.
And if you may need to stave off any potential turkey emergencies, we also suggest the
Butterball Cookbook Plus, which has a few handy functions, like a “prepare” mode that switches recipes to large, easy-to-read print; plus a a voice command feature so you can flip pages without using those messy fingers.
And of course there are timers. Lots of timers.
If you don’t want to shell out the bucks for the app, you can also ask Butterball a question for free on Twitter or Facebook which they’ll be manning all day. Social media at its best.
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving, parents!
