When I think of the words “coffee table,” I think about a place to put my feet and a place that my kids jump on, but rarely did I ever equate it with an awesomely interactive computer, until now. This amazing new IdeaCentre Horizon PC from Lenovo is giving new meaning to the term “coffee table PC” and might just change how our living rooms look in the future.
This PC is multi-function since it can both serve as a desktop computer with its HUGE 27″ display or lie flat for an awesome computing and gaming experience. It’s totally touch-based, which of course means that your kids will know exactly what to do with it, and the many apps and games it comes with–like Monopoly, Air Hockey, a dedicated fishing game, and Roulette–will make your kids think you got it just for them. Yea, sure.
(Though the on-the-glass joystick and e-dice accessories it comes with may strengthen their case.)
From a pure PC standpoint, it has everything you’d expect from a Lenovo computer including incredible audio and video features, super fast and powerful Intel processors, terrific graphics, and the new touch-based Windows 8 platform which operates the appealing tile aesthetic that is also featured on the new Windows phones.
You can do everything you’d need to do to work and run a household, including managing schedules, bills, documents, photos, videos, and you can do it while the computer is standing up or lying flat. How cool!
While the 27″ screen includes built-in WiFi so you can move it around the house, it’s really meant to be in one or two places: either on your desk, in your living room, or both. It’s not exactly a “carry it around the house” tablet because of thie size.
Judging from another awesome Lenovo innovation we covered last year, the IdeaPad Yoga 13, it’s clear that this company is on the cutting edge of computing design and we’re excited to see what’s next for families. -Jeana
