Konner's Christmas Lights 2013 | Cool Mom Tech

As we begin putting our site to rest for a long winter’s nap (or at least until the kids wake us up at 5 am tomorrow) I started looking at all the outrageous Christmas light show videos on YouTube, knowing how much my kids would love to see them. And then I came across Konner’s Christmas Lights, which embodies the spirit of the holidays more than any other I’ve seen.

Konner is a 15 year-old boy with Muscular Dystrophy, and it was his wish to have some Christmas lights on his house–simple request. And yet his neighbors got his parents out of the house for a few hours and went to work on something even bigger. The Konner’s Christmas 2013 Video document the process and if it doesn’t make you teary, then I don’t know what will.

It’s a little long, and it’s not professionally produced, but in part, that’s the charm. When you hit the big reveal around 4:10 don’t tell me you aren’t holding back the tears.

Residents of Chubbuck, Idaho: You all win Christmas this year. And Konner, we hope you have a very merry one yourself.

If you liked this video, consider making a year-end donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association on behalf of Konner.
