If you know what a Cosby sweater looks like, can recite your favorite line from Pretty in Pink, and remember rollerskating to Lucky Star, then you too may love Hey 80’s by Seattle kindie rockers The Not-Its!

This sweetly wistful song sung by Sarah Shannon, formerly of Sub Pop band Velocity Girl,  is a fun walk down memory lane as she recalls so many things that made the 80’s so great. At its core, it’s really a song about wanting to share our own youthful memories with our kids. Because while it’s fun to remember, it’s more fun explaining why were wore such gigantic shoulder pads, what a boom box was, or what MTV programming looked like back in the good ol’ days.

Yes, they actually used to play music, kids.
