If your kid’s future is so bright they have to wear shades, then we’ve got some cool STEM tees for kids that combine brains with beauty. Science, technology, engineering, and math are more fun when you’re wearing them, right? And we’re happy to see that they’re getting even easier to find for girls, since the geeks of both sexes shall inherit the earth.
Whether you’re into advocacy or honoring inventors, we love the diverse selection of STEM tees for kids (shown at top) at one of our favorite shops, Peek Kids. We’re digging the Positive Thinker atom tee (get it?); the Alexander Graham Bell tee; and the girls’ Rachel Carson environmental advocate tee. We especially love that the “girls” category doesn’t skimp on the selection, including this super cool Vostok 6 astronaut tee, honoring the first woman to fly into space, Valentina Tereshkova. But hey, girls can order those “boys” shirts too if they don’t mind the boxier fit..
Yeah, this emphatic This Girl Asks Why science tee from ThisGirlsTees on Etsy is awesome. Because we’re not big into telling our girls to be quiet and accept the status quo. Asking why is always a good thing.
If your kids play Minecraft, then you know how it can seep into every facet of life until they’re digging through the cereal box with a flashlight and stacking the creamers at the donut shop. And you also know that it’s great for their brains and for encouraging creativity and curiosity. This Mine Crafted tee from artist Alex Solis at Threadless is a good reminder that some video games are just as educational as book learning. And possibly more inspiring.
If you’re a kid of Sesame Street and The Electric Company, you’ll get a kick out of seeing your kids (or you!) dressed in this vibrant Retro Numbers shirt by artist Budi Satria Kwan on Society 6. It’s available in Youth sizes 2-12, plus adult sizes and as a phone case, rug, tote, or mug.
Every brain is unique, and that’s what makes life so interesting. Whether you’re neurotypical or not, this Neurodiversity shirt from our pals at ThinkGeek is a great reminder that our differences make us special. Normal? What’s that?
Bugs are cool, and the world needs more entomologists. Hence this rad Moss Beetle tee for kids from artist Teagan White at Society 6. It’s available in sizes 2 to 12 in ten colors. Even pink. Which is super cool in its own way.
O Mg, you guys, this O Mg tee from IceCreamTees on Etsy is cracking us up. We love the cheeky take on the ubiquitous acronym as expressed through chemistry. And if you love it, they make them in men and women’s sizes too.
I got 99 problems, and none of them are the 99 robots on this understated tee. Available in lots of sizes for babies and kids, this 99 Robots and Me tee by artist Malo Tocquer on Threadless is a fantastic way to dig on robots without having to name your favorite licensed franchise. Mine is Transformers, by the way. I’m Team Grimlock.
We’re still digging the huge array of science and math shirts from Megan Lee Studio on Etsy, and you’re sure to find your favorite topic printed on a shirt sized just for your future scientist. She’s got both toddler or kids’ sizes in a variety of colors. We just wish the incredibly awesome Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson designs she’s now making were available for kids; today’s heroes are a little easier to grasp than Oppenheimer, you know?
Holy girl-power! Thank you so much for the THIS GIRL’S TEES shout out! I love that more girls will be sporting these kinds of messages and dispelling the mainstream stereotypes that are marketed to them by large manufactures.Coolmomtech, changing things one shirt at a time!
Big love,
Kris
