Our favorite little droid R2-D2 faithfully served Padmé, Anakin, Luke, and Leia, and now, you can add your own little Jedi to the list, thanks to this new Droid Inventor Kit from CMP favorite littleBits.
The Droid Inventor Kit, which is recommended for kids ages 8 and up, allows kids to actually build and control their own droid, with the help of an app with assembly instructions and tutorials to get them started.

Keep in mind, like most of the littleBits kits, this kit is not cheap. But since kids can train, reconfigure, and drive their droid around, there’s a pretty decent price-per-hours-of-play ratio. Especially if your child happens to have a nerdy, nostalgic parent who might want to give it a whirl too. Ahem.
