You’d think by now, with the sheer advances in cell phone technology, we’d all be able to make and receive crystal clear calls from anywhere, from the city to the plains. But how many times do you find yourself saying, Can you hear me now? and then feeling totally dorky because you sound just like those ads.

If you want to register your complaint and see where others are experiencing the same problems, check out DeadCellZones, a crowdsourced site about spotty cell phone coverage areas. You can type in your information and a map of your area comes up with dots to indicate complaints from Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile customers.

This is also a good resource if you’re in the market for a new carrier and want to see which fares better in your area. Maybe by using the site and making an informed decision, people will be able to hear you now. -Jeana
