I wouldn’t call myself a germaphobe, but I do like to have a clean toothbrush. You know, since I’m putting it in my mouth and all. At home, we’ve used the Zapi toothbrush sanitizers which are convenient and fun. (Check out that adorable new ninja model.) But next time I go on vacation, I’m trading my regular old toothbrush travel case for the VIOlife UV Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer.

Hotel rooms are famous for being germy (let alone your sundries bag), so I can totally see the benefit in having a case like this when I’m on the road. The slim design slim would be great for travel even if it didn’t have the sanitizer, but when you close the lid, a UV light automatically turns on, evidently killing 99.99% of the germs on your toothbrush. I’m talking E.Coli, H1N1, Staph, and salmonella. Not that you’ll be rubbing your toothbrush on any raw chicken anytime soon, but still.

The case turns off on its own after 6 minutes so it’s pretty low maintenance, and since it only restarts when you open it again, the batteries won’t drain while you aren’t using it.

Pretty much any standard toothbrush or electric toothbrush heads will fit in it so no need to get a newly compatible brush too. Another nice touch: the little drip pan in there comes out so you can wash it. That way your case can stay as clean as your toothbrush.

The VIOlight UV Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer is available at the VIOlife website or at our Amazon affiliate for $29.95.
