I always think the mark of a truly stylish kitchen is a few well-placed pops of color. I never imagined that color being on the oven, but, after seeing the candy colored cookers from BlueStar Ovens, I now think that a statement-making oven is a pretty genius idea.
Blue Star Ovens’ wall oven comes in 190 colors–every shade from hot pink to mustard yellow. I have to imagine that even the blandest looking pot roast you put into this thing would come out of the oven in bold colors, just like in Wizard of Oz when the movie goes from black and white to technicolor.
They’re available in 3 sizes, and the two larger models come with French doors (love!). These restaurant-grade ovens are perfect for the Top Chef-wannabes out there (ahem, myself included), as they have convection oven cooking, are super powerful and have a heat assist element for quick start-ups.
Since I spend more time in the kitchen than any other room in the house, I should at least have an oven that lifts the mood. My favorite is the bright orange one, to match my Le Creuset dutch oven. Maybe that’s the kitchen equivalent of matching your shoes to your purse. -Melissa
