While today is the day we think about all we have to be grateful are, so many of our thoughts turn towards those who have less than us. As you start thinking about all those new gifts and gadgets under the tree (or Menorah) this year, we wanted to offer up a nice way to pass on the old ones.
HopeLine is a
program from Verizon Wireless that donates your used cell phones to
victims and survivors of domestic violence. In the last ten years
they’ve donated more than 100,000 phones (wow) with free wireless
service, but they can always use more. It’s a pretty comprehensive
program and they work with organizations from the Family Violence
Prevention Fund to Safe Horizons and the NCADV
To donate any phone at all–not just a Verizon phone–drop it off at any
Verizon Wireless
store or mail it in.
It could mean one more person who’s thankful for you this year. –Liz
