If you are a PC user who has been coveting a laptop as light as a MacBook Air – then the wait is over with a new offering from Intel that weighs less than 3 pounds.
Intel
Ultrabooks are not only lightweight, they’re less than 1 inch
thick, and I’m so glad to see other laptops finally lightening their load.
One
laptop in particular, the 13.3 inch Toshiba
Portege Z835 is one that impressed, and it’s also
lighter on the budget–just $799 compared to the $1,299
MacBook Air. Wow.
As for features, the Toshiba Portege Z835 has a strong solid state hard drive, a decent 8 hour battery life, a shock-absorbing design (essential with all those lightweight laptops) and most important – a spill-resistant backlit keyboard to protect it from rogue juice boxes.
While I would have preferred a choice of colors on the outside, I can’t complain about the fast Intel Core processor on the inside, making multi-tasking and a quick start-up a joy. –Beth
