I’ve been eyeing up the adorable photo collages on my Instagram feed, wondering how my fellow iPhoneographers were making them. Well, it definitely can’t hurt to ask, because I got the scoop on the coolest collage app that’s super easy to use.
PicFrame offers you a ton of different photo collage options, allowing you to showcase more than one photo in a large square that’s perfect for Instagram. I’ve made a bunch already, all of which just require you to tap to upload your photo into the frame of your choice, then slide to fit (or expand, depending on the photo size), and save. You can even share to Instagram directly from the app.
My only gripe is that the “tap” feature is super sensitive, so on numerous occasions, I’ve ended up back at my photo library when all I wanted to do was expand a photo. Of course that’s a minor annoyance thanks to a simple click on the cancel button–and well worth it for a handy app that’s less than a buck.
You can purchase PicFrame for Instagram at iTunes. And thanks to my favorite collage Instagrammers–Marie, Ciaran, and Danielle–for the tip. Also, don’t miss our post on 10 of the best Instagram collage apps for iOS and Android, to see which is best for you.
Do you know any similar programs to use on a pc?
According to my husband there are more Android users than iPhone users. It would be great if you could include non-iPhone apps more often.
umar, I have been using PhotoGrid, and so far it is good (and free.)
Hi Julie, we have an entire category of apps for Android

Good ones remain harder to find (and meet our standards) than iOS apps, but we are always on the lookout.
I just discovered PosterFuse (www.posterfuse) that is similar to PicFrame for your PC.
It turns your Instagram photos into a collage either to print on a huge poster for a great price or to use as a Facebook cover photo.
Highly recommend them and hope you support them too!
So cool -will try it out now! Thank you for all your helpful tip and ideas!
Thank you! I’m downloading it right now.
i have created several collages and saved them to my camera roll, but nobody has explained how to get it to Instagram as a cover photo.
Hi Judi, to clarify – do you mean you want an Instagram cover photo? Instagram doesn’t have the functionality to customize it; the featured image collage on Instagram.com if you’re checking on the web randomly rotates photos from your stream. You can only control your own avatar.
