Maybe it’s my father-in-law’s background in atmospheric science and meteorology or maybe it’s just an excuse to use my iPhone, but lately, my son has taken an interest in checking the weather each morning of cities around the world and giving me the forecast for locations around the world. It’s very cute.
With the newly updated Yahoo! Weather app for iOS and Android he’s telling me a lot more than just the temperature; its recent upgrades has made it a lot more visual than past versions and provides more detail on the forecast including hourly and weekly weather stats, what it “actually feels like” and what the precipitation chances are.
The coolest part for those of us who care about things lookin pretty, is that Yahoo! has partnered with Flickr to provide the city-specific backdrops from users. And when you tilt your phone to the side, additional Flickr images of other cities you’re tracking will appear as a slideshow. –Jeana
