Forget complicated resolutions; this year, I just want us to get back to basics. Unplug more often to play together, read longer stories at bedtime, and perhaps the simplest resolution of all: Give more love whenever and wherever we can. And I’ve found the most beautiful song by Northern Michigan singer/songwriter Papa Crow (aka Jeff Krebs) and his guest, the beloved Frances England, which will help remind us of this simple idea that doesn’t take much effort at all.
Give Some, Get Some has a message that reminds me a bit of what I’ve been telling the kids all holiday season: ‘Tis better to give than to receive. And, while Papa Crow and Frances England aren’t talking about presents in this lovely duet, I think you’ll agree that it’s something we can all resolve to do more often in 2015.
