Every year at CES, companies roll out some of the coolest new tech of the year, lots of which you have seen (or will see) right here on Cool Mom Tech. Then there are the tech gadgets that have us scratching our heads. Or if we had the Hair Coach smart brush, stroking our heads. Then checking our phone to see how it affected our hair quality. For real.

It doesn’t surprise me that this gadget exists, considering how obsessed many of us (including me, not gonna lie!) are with our hair. A collaboration between Withings, L’Oréal, and Kérastase — some of my favorite brands, by the way — the Hair Coach can actually analyze your hair and give you insight into your brushing technique.

The Hair Coach: A smart brush from Withings that launched at CES 2017

You’ll get readings on your hair health, suggestions on how to improve it, and data to show you how far you’ve come and where you need to get to. #HairGoals. Literally. But, do I really need to know all that about my hair? Not really. Okay, not at all.

Now if this super excites you rather than makes your eyes roll, I’m sorry to say you will have to wait until fall of 2017 to get your hands on it. For me, well, until it can do stuff like detect lice or make my hair look like I just walked out of the salon every single day, I’ll just stick with the Goody one I have that does nothing but brush.
