With so many kids either asking for a Nintendo Switch this holiday season, or looking to add to their Nintendo Switch game collection, we decided to share some of our own kids’ favorite games, along with favorites from our Out Tech Your Kids Facebook Group (you are a member, right?).
While each has their own ESRB rating, we always encourage parents to do a little research on their own in terms of whether the content is appropriate or not for your own kids. You know them best!

Out just a few weeks ago, this is my son’s new favorite game. I thought his Pokémon obsession had died down a bit, but I guess I was wrong. If you’ve got a Pokémon fan in your house, this is a must-have. ESRB rating: Everyone
Okay, so we haven’t actually played this one just yet since it’s not officially available until December 7, but we’re believing all the hype that it’s going to be awesome. It’s one of our all-time favorite games. We can’t wait to see the Ultimate version. ESRB rating: 10+

This is an obvious choice for the Minecraft lover in your home. Hey, they’ve probably got the game on all their other gadgets, so why not add it to the Nintendo Switch as well. ESRB rating: 10+

I hear nothing but laughter and happy cheers when my kids play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so much so that I’m going to invest in a couple of Joy-Con controllers so all my kids and I can play at the same time. ESRB rating: Everyone

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
While my kids aren’t Zelda fans, this game gets rave reviews from the parents in our Out Tech Your Kids Facebook Group. And considering it’s pretty hard to find, I’m not really surprised. You’ll probably have to buy it from a third party (new or used) if you want to get it in time for the holidays. But for everything I hear, it’s totally worth it. ESRB rating: 10+

Another huge favorite with lots of kids (and parents too), you don’t even need to be a huge Mario fan to enjoy his awesome 3D adventures. ESRB rating: 10+
Rocket League: Collector’s Edition
While this game has been around for awhile, when I mentioned Rocket League to my 11-year old son, he said “oh yeah, that’s a fun game.” And well, if “battle cars” doesn’t say fun, I’m not sure what does. ESRB rating: Everyone
