This holiday season, my family enjoyed the spoils from my experimentation with the very cool Martha Stewart Makes Cookies iPad app, so you can imagine how excited they were when I decided to give her new smoothies app a try, just in time for fresh fruit season.
Not only are the recipes tasty, but they’re waaaaay easier on the waistline than those cookies.
I’m pretty impressed with the new Whole Living Smoothies app, which features 36 yummy smoothies grouped into the categories essential, meal-in-a-glass, and allergen-free. If like me you thought that there were really only a few kinds of smoothies, then you’ll be amazed at the variety here. Best of all, there’s no skill required, except a little simple chopping and pushing a button on your blender.
You can search based on type of smoothie as well as by ingredient, with all the health information at the tap of a fingertip, and mark your favorites for easy reference. I love that you also get short videos to give you simple cooking instruction–everything like how to best clean your blender, to how to cut an avocado or pineapple.
If you’re a smoothie junkie and find the 36 recipes aren’t enough, you can purchase additional Detox and Weight Loss recipes as in-app purchases. Delicious. -Kristen
