Ever since my print-scan-fax machine broke, I’ve been using HelloFax.com to scan, email, and fax. But as much as I love that site, it doesn’t help me with actual receipts and papers that I need to fax or scan. And with back to school time here, I am in desperate need to get organized!
That’s why I’m so in love with this cool app that does everything my scanner did, and more, for $.99.
I’m not quite sure where JotNot Pro has been all my life, but let’s just say I’m thrilled to have it. I originally downloaded the free version, which is perfectly fine for the bare basics, but with the Pro version’s current introductory price, it’s well worth the buck to upgrade.
With the app loaded on your phone, take a picture of what you need to scan, then use the simple sizer to fit it to your screen. When you’re ready, you hit process and then decide what to do with your scan, which is where the Pro version rocks. While the free version saves your pages in the app as well as in your photo gallery, with JotNot Pro, you can name and organize your scans, email them as PDFs, JPGs, or PNGs, even fax them. I also like how it syncs with Dropbox and Evernote.
Most importantly, the quality, particularly on the iPhone 4, is excellent. At least I haven’t gotten any complaints nor have I had any issues with accounting departments. And we all know how picky they can be.
