It's amazing to me how much information is available for pregnant women now, as opposed to when I was with child more than seven years ago. Yes, we had the Internet back then (it wasn't that long ago), but honestly, my go-to resource was my trusty What to Expect When You're Expecting book. I used to check in week-by-week to track progress and write little notes on the pages. Oh, how times have changed.
The apps available to pregnant moms now and the sheer amount of information available is incredible. The Sprout Pregnancy App is one of those great ones that provides you with day-by-day and week-by-week status updates, photos, advice, tips, journals and so much more. The gestational development photos alone are pretty cool.
Anyone can use the app, but I think first-time moms who are experiencing everything anew will get the most out of it. There are kick counters, hospital lists, doctor visit planners, newborn advice--see what I mean about it being for first-timers? I was lucky with my second to get to the hospital in time before delivering. -Jeana
Sprout is available in iTunes for $3.99. People who purchase the app will also get a free subscription to American Baby magazine.
